SCORES Cup
Our big soccer tournament for adults. Held every summer, the SCORES Cup is an 8 vs. 8 co-ed tournament at Crocker Amazon Park in San Francisco. To enter a team for 2012, please contact Yuri Morales, ymorales@americascores.org.
Our 8th annual tournament, held July 16th, 2011 was a rowdy success. With 16 teams from some of the Bay Area’s biggest companies, we had some heavy competition and great fun. A big shout goes out to all the teams who participated: Bingham McCutchen, Ernst & Young, Google, Goldman Sachs, Hanson Bridgett, Nextag, The Sak, Salesforce.com, SilverLake, SoccerFours, Sports Basement, StubHub, Thomson Reuters, TPG, and tournament champions, Bain & Company!
Legacy Awards
A legacy is a gift from the past to the future. The Legacy Awards honors outstanding people who have gone above and beyond over the past ten years to create a better future for children in the Bay Area. Each contribution is distinct and reveals a story of passion, commitment, and contribution. In 2011, we honored the volunteers whose work over the last ten years created a powerful force that improves the quality of life for our Bay Area communities. In 2012 we look to our future…

Inspired Art – Poetry Party and Art Auction
“Inspired Art” is an ongoing collaboration between our America SCORES poet-athletes and local artists. The underlying goal is to bring together voices across the Bay Area to create something truly, well, inspiring. All pieces are created by local San Francisco artists and are displayed alongside the America SCORES poems that inspired them. Saturday Game Days
All of our America SCORES sites hold weekly Saturday Game Days. Saturday mornings serve as opportunities for all of our colorful teams to join together and express themselves on the soccer field and the microphone. Teams test their skills against one another in competitive soccer games. Also, students share their classroom work in front of each other through a variety of performance opportunities, such as the “Poetry Prize Wheel” and “Mini-Shout”. SAN FRANCISCO
In the Fall and Spring, Game Days take place at Crocker Amazon Soccer Complex located off Geneva St. in San Francisco.
In the Winter season, Jr. SCORES hits local gyms to play some sala futbol. This season, Jr. SCORES is using the Buchanan YMCA as its North City location. In the south, teams flock to Bret Harte Elementary in Bayview.
WEST CONTRA COSTA
In the Fall and Spring, West Contra Costa games are played at Cesar Chavez Elementary.
Regional Events
Regional Events are held each Fall and Spring season that bring poet-athletes and their families together and showcase the athletic and academic achievements of America SCORES teams. Fall Frenzy – Fall season kick-off and festival.
Poetry SLAM! – Poetry recital for an audience of family and community members.
Jamboree – End-of-Spring season celebration with games, food, and more!
SHOUT! – A showcase of our Spring service-learning projects. Students from across the Bay Area present their projects to other schools and community members.
The Soccer Ball – A Dance Party to Benefit America SCORES Bay Area
2011′s event featured “Foreverland”, an electrifying 14-piece tribute to Michael Jackson. Poets and members of the Bay Area soccer community were in attendance on October 20th at the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco. Shinguards optional.
