The Red Carpet Poetry Slam is a fundraiser celebrating America SCORES Chicago and its poet-athletes’ successes.  Each year, a handful of poets are selected from the program to perform their original works before an audience of friends, family, community members, supporters and funders.  In addition to live performances, Slam attendees can sample the open bar and hors d’oeuvres, enjoy the wine raffle, and bid on an exciting assortment of items at the Silent Auction.

America SCORES Chicago also uses the Slam as an opportunity to pay special thanks to outstanding friends and funders.  Each year, America SCORES selects a special supporter and honors them with prestigious Calliope Award. The award illuminates those who have used their time, energy and expertise to advance America SCORES’ mission to keep kids scoring goals on the field and achieving goals in the classroom.
