Inspired Art Project

America SCORES Denver and local Denver artists are coming together this spring to bring the poetry of our SCORES students to life in the 3rd annual Inspired Art event…
Inspired Art 2012 is April 12, 2012 at Artwork Network on Santa Fe Drive.  We have updated forms and information, and most importantly, NEW POETRY fresh from 2011 writing sessions at America SCORES Denver sites!
Our poet-athletes wrote some fun, sad, acrostic, story-like, and even silly poetry to inspire artists and share with their classmates and communities. Please check the Poetry page to read the additions for 2012 and Artists’ Corner to identify your selections if you plan to create something for our event this year.
Whether you participate as an artist, want to see our poets perform live, or wish to add art to your home or office walls, WE WANT YOU THERE to see the wonderful creations and magical collaboration of poets and artists.  Please save the date and check back to purchase your tickets for a sensational spring evening in Denver’s Santa Fe Art District!
A Glimpse of Inspired Art 2011
Best Place to be From

inspired by Where I Am From

I am from a place
Where my mom waits for me
With a delicious meal
Done by her own hands
With love.

I am from a place
Where the blue sky is like me
Always feeling free
And smiling with the clouds
Like jumping in
A trampoline

inspired by I Wish Poem

I wish my mom didn’t leave me because I miss her.
I wish I could get my mom and dad back together.
I wish I can learn about my mom so that when I see her I know it is her.
I wish I can get all my sadness and drop it in the ocean.
I wish that my mom cared and loved me.
I wish I can know, see and love my mom, but I am not sure what to say.
I love her or I don’t?
