2010 National Poetry Slam!
On April 19th,2010, two exemplary kids from America SCORES LA joined poet-athletes from SCORES sites around the country for the Fourth Annual National Poetry SLAM! They traveled to New York to perform their poetry in front of an audience of 300 supporters at the New York Stock Exchange. This years event honored Sunil Gulati, President of the US Soccer Federation.
Chosen because of their unique poetry, performance style and positive attitude, Jose P. (Grade 5, Palms Elementary) and Kamari R. (Grade 5, Charnock Road Elementary) were chosen to represent America SCORES LA at this years National Poetry SLAM!
