How Can I Get Involved?

There are lots of ways:

Visit the SCORES program as an Inspiring Artist: America SCORES New England is looking for passionate musicians, creative writers, or other artists who would like to visit our SCORES poet-athletes to share their love of creative expression. Meeting with our poet-athletes is a great way to inspire young people to grow into artists themselves! If interested, contact Dwayne Simmons at dsimmons@americascores.org.

Volunteer as a Referee: Come out to an urban field on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon for 1 to 2 hours to referee a youth soccer game. Most fields are T accessible. All you need to participate is a basic understanding of soccer…we will train you! Contact Mark Moniz at mmoniz@americascores.org.

Volunteer as a Writing Workshop Assistant: Writing Workshop Assistants work with a team of 15 boys or girls 1 or 2 times a week as they practice their creative writing skills. Becoming a Writing Workshop Assistant is a great opportunity if you love encouraging creative expression! Contact Dwayne Simmons at dsimmons@americascores.org.

Become an Assistant Soccer Coach: Assistant Soccer Coaches help lead soccer practice for a team of 15 boys or girls 1 or 2 times per week. Most fields are T accessible. Volunteering as an Assistant Soccer Coach is a great way to get to know a small group of kids and watch them developed into athletes and leaders! Contact Mark Moniz at mmoniz@americascores.org.
