There is a volunteer role at America SCORES NY for everyone, including: individuals, families, corporate groups, civic groups, students seeking community service hours, and others. We try and accommodate all schedules and time commitments, whether you would like to volunteer just one day a year or 5 days a week!

America SCORES NY annually hosts three program events for students and two fundraising events where volunteers are essential (see descriptions below).

America SCORES NY needs volunteer referees for elementary school league games on Fridays from 2:45-4:30PM.  No prior experience or certification needed, just a basic knowledge of soccer. We also seek committed assistant coaches to help at schools across the city on weekdays from 2:30-4:30PM.

Fall Frenzy
October 21
Fall Frenzy is a celebration of the fall season filled with soccer games, relays, and arts and crafts, and other activities.

Community Poetry Slam!
November 18
This  spoken-word competition, which is the cornerstone event of the fall season, features performances of America SCORES NY students and their original works of poetry. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, breakdown, registration, and act as ushers.

Inspired Art Gala
April
Inspired Art is a fundraising gala and auction featuring artwork inspired by the poetry of America SCORES NY poet-athletes. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, breakdown, and registration.

Jamboree/SHOUT!
Early June
Jamboree/SHOUT! is our year-end culminating celebration of the whole America Scores NY programming year.  The day is filled with a round-robin non-competitive soccer tournament, relay races, service-learning presentations and many other activities for America Scores NY students and their families.  Volunteers are needed to assist with refereeing, food, setup, and breakdown.

America SCORES NY Cup
Late June
The New York SCORES Cup is an annual co-ed soccer tournament fundraiser.  The tournament features 15 New York City area law firms and businesses engaged in friendly competition for a good cause.  Volunteers are needed to assist with setup and breakdown.

We are always excited to connect with people who would like to donate their time and talent to our cause! Other types of support we are often looking for:

• Graphic design
• Event photography, filming and video editing
• Event promotion
• Event management (helping with setup, check-in, etc.)
• Sponsor recruitment
